Sandalwood essential oil is an extraordinary ingredient for the well-being of the mind and body. It is great for the beauty of the skin and to create a soothing atmosphere in your home. Sandalwood is an evergreen tree native to the Malay archipelago and the East Indies, reaching a height of 10-12 meters. The leaves are elliptical with an entire margin, alternating while the flowers are small and pink. The fruit is fleshy and has a persistent calyx. The used part of the plant is the wood and the roots. The extraction method takes place by steam distillation. Sandalwood essential oil has a woody, sweet, balsamic and intense scent.


The essential oil of sandalwood has healing properties, therefore it is a good remedy in case of minor wounds and burns. Thanks to its astringent properties, it can be applied to the face to reduce dilated pores,   also has purifying and antiseptic properties, therefore it is ideal for gently cleansing the skin.

Ayurvedic medicine also uses sandolo wood for food purposes: it is believed that it stimulates diuresis and promotes the healing of the urinary tract.

How to use

Diffusion:use 3 - 4 drops in the diffuser for a relaxing effect

Topical: For massage, mix 5 drops with 10ml of dōTERRA Fractionated Coconut Oil.

For the bath, mix 8 drops with epsom salt and add to the water
