Known as the tree of life, the Tuia is a tree of majestic size and rich in properties. Our dōTERRA Arborvitae essential oil is obtained from the heartwood of the Thuja plicata tree. This plant native to North America (mainly Canada and the north-western United States) from which this precious and exceptional essential oil is extracted contains a well-defined chemical profile and in particular Methyl thujate. The supply of the raw material from which this oil is obtained is characterized by an ecological and environmentally friendly process. In fact, the waste from wood processing is distilled, to ensure that no tree is unnecessarily cut down for the subsequent production of the essential oil. This plant, native to Canada, was widely used in all its parts by Native Americans for its beneficial properties for health and also for the construction of ships, totems and objects of clothing.
